Evenings, Shabbat and holidays: the MAHAR
The MAHAR medical emergency centre is at 39 Sderot David HaMelech in Gefen, on 02-9932211. It is open (council (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)):
- Sunday to Thursday 19:00-23:00
- Fridays and holiday eves 13:00-23:00
- Shabbat and holidays 09:00-23:00
Clalit lists it too and notes there is an extra charge (Clalit (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). The regional council lists the MAHAR as the emergency centre for both Efrat and the Gush. At night, your kupah's hotline can give you a phone referral to a hospital ER (council (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). See the listing.
About 100 volunteers staff Efrat's medical response, including a community ambulance that runs around the clock (council (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). In an emergency, call MDA on 101.
The kupot in Efrat
- Clalit: two primary-care clinics, Te'ena (02-9937555) and HaZayit on the 4th floor of Efrat Center, 2 Zayit Shemen St (02-9937540), each with a Clalit pharmacy (Clalit Te'ena (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה); Clalit Zayit (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
- Maccabi: branch office in the MAHAR building, 02-9932140 (Maccabi (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).

- Leumit: listed at 1 Netzer Yishai St in a business directory; I could not confirm it from Leumit itself.
Tipat Halav (the mother-and-baby clinic) is run by Clalit at 1 Netzer Yishai St, 02-9937550, in the same building as Clalit's child development institute (Clalit (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
In the yishuvim
Directory listings show Meuhedet clinics in Alon Shvut, Neve Daniel and Elazar, Clalit clinics in Alon Shvut, Kfar Etzion, Rosh Tzurim and Migdal Oz, and Maccabi in Tekoa (d.co.il (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). Hours in the small clinics are short, so check before you go.
Hospitals
NBN lists Hadassah (Ein Kerem and Mt. Scopus), Shaare Zedek and Herzog Medical Center in Jerusalem for Efrat residents (NBN (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
Emotional support
The Etzion Resilience Center (Merkaz Hosen), at 1 Boaz St in Te'ena, gives free emotional care for children, teens and adults dealing with stress and anxiety. It serves Beitar, Efrat and Gush Etzion; phone 02-9939378 (council (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)). For older residents, Melabev runs a day centre for people with cognitive decline five days a week, with transport from all the Gush yishuvim (council (נפתח בכרטיסייה חדשה)).
