Visiting Efrat & Gush Etzion: start here
Efrat sits among the vineyards and terraced hills of Gush Etzion, about 16 km south of Jerusalem. Visitors come for the Heritage Center at Kfar Etzion, the wineries, the springs and the Herodium, and many stay for a Shabbat simcha in Efrat or at a Gush guesthouse.

The Gush has spring pools you can swim in, from Ein Sajma near Bat Ayin to the shallow Nokdim pools for small children.

Efrat lights candles 20 minutes before sunset, per the council; some Gush communities keep their own custom.
